Holidays In Other Countries

What did you learn about Holidays in other countries?

&

How  and why english was used on this sites?

I was looking at that websites and I realize that English in this cases was very useful because it allows me to learn how people from countries different to mine celebrate their Holidays.

I learnt that Peruvian Christmas is celebrated similarly as we do it here in Colombia. I also learnt how important is water on Thai culture and their way to enjoy New Year, I was surprised because their New Year is on April and ours is on December.

From Indian Holi Festival, I pay special attention on their slogan "Life turns colourful", because it is literally. I had some stereotypes about eastern countries: I thought people there was boring but now I know that they can be funnier than western countries. Honestly, I would like to enjoy the experiences of Thai New Year and Indian Holi Festival.

Finally, I read about Guatemalan Holy Week and I compared it with this Holiday in Colombia, althought we share religion I think that they are more united and respectful in this aspect than us.

  1. I think that the holidays are very colorful in every place in the world because that is an expression of festivity. When i live in Spain one of the most incredible things in the year was the Christmas. A lot of caravans full of people throwing candies. The color was the crucial factor in these celebrations, im with you in that.
